How to get Organized

Have you ever felt like you are a knotted up pile of yarn, and you just can’t seem to get untangled? That is a frustrating feeling. Here are some tips on how to get that “pile” into a nicely organized ball of yarn. It can be hard at first to get your business as well as your life organized, but once you are, you will wonder how you ever got along.

Everything has a place/Everything in it’s place
The best place to start is to get rid of the clutter. Go through all of those old papers and decide what is trash. After you determine what you no longer need, you need to decide how “sensitive” each paper is. With Identity Theft among us, you don’t want to just throw away some things. You want to shred them. This would include anything with your social security number on it, or any credit card or bank information. Anything you decide to keep should be filed in a file cabinet. This would include papers such as check stubs, bank statements, tax returns or any other important documents.

Time Management
Everyone has a busy life. It would be nice if there were more hours in a day to get everything done, but unfortunately, we only get 24 hours, and we have to sleep. Time management is a very important part of getting organized. You need to decide what has to be done immediately, and what can wait. Once you decide that, you need to figure out how long it will take to complete that task. Try to stick with that time frame, so you are able to move on to the next item on your list.

Daily Planner
When you have a busy life, making sure you don’t forget something is essential! Keep a daily planner with you all of the time. That way, when you make an appointment, you can write it down right away. Also, you will not forget an upcoming meeting or appointment. A daily planner will also help you plan for the next day. You can sit down, and look at what you have scheduled for the day and then plan when the best time would be to go to the store, or even when you can do something for yourself, such as a manicure.

Organization can be a tough thing to get a hold of. Once you do, you will get so much more accomplished. You will be able to get things done that you never thought you could or would. If you follow these steps you will be well on your way to becoming organized.

Did you know????

Did you know you can receive email updates to all the tips and fun posts I make? All you have to do is enter your email in the box to the right and follow the steps. Start receiving those updates today!

Today….I got Boo’d!!!

It is sort of a trick or treat….in reverse. Someone sent me the treat and I didn’t even ask for it. I work for a fairly large company. There are over 1000 employees. One of those 1000 employees sent me a Boo bag. It had lotion, a Halloween candle and a bunch of candy in it. It also had the following note in it:

How to Boo!

This treat is for you.
We hope you enjoy.
The idea is simple.
One we hope you will employ.
You pass “Boo” along to 4 other people.
Along with any kind of Halloween favors.
If we all do our part,
And spread good cheer,
By Halloween night it will be very clear,
We’re a friendly bunch,
We like to have fun.
So please do your part
And keep “Boo” on the run!

I thought it was a neat way to celebrate Halloween at work.

Who will you Boo???

Get your car ready for winter

Winter will soon be here. It is important that your car is ready for it. Here are a few tips on getting your car ready for winter.

Check the ignition, brakes, wiring, hoses and fan belts.
Change and adjust the spark plugs.
Check the air, fuel and emission filters, and the PCV valve.
Check the battery.
Check the tires for air, sidewall wear and tread depth.
Check antifreeze levels.
Check the oil.
Add a bottle of "Heat" to your gas tank.

Also, always make sure that you have a spare tire and a jack, jumper cables, a shovel, and ice salt or kitty litter in case you get stuck.

If you are going on a trip, you should also have a working flashlight and extra batteries, a compass, a First aid kit, an ice scraper and snow brush, non-perishable, high-energy foods like unsalted canned nuts, dried fruits, and hard candy, and warm blankets. Always remember that if you find yourself stranded, stay in your car and wait for help to arrive.

Winter has arrived! It can leave now!!

Well, it had to happen. We got a ton of snow last night. I have to say that it is pretty, but it is so scary to drive in it. It is nice to see the kids outside playing in it and building snow men though. This is a picture of my back yard. I would say we got about 6-8 inches of snow.

My First Post

This is my first official post on here. I thought I would just tell a little about myself. I am 32 years old, and I have been married for 13 years. I have 2 wonderful children who are 11 and 12 years old. I currently work full time as an accounting clerk for an oil company. I have been there for almost 2 years now. I would love to make some extra money at home, so my wonderful sister set me up with affiliate marketing. I can't wait to see how that goes.

I don't really have any hobbies. I am always on the run taking my son to football, or taking my daughter to babysit. I do love to try and help people by giving them advice on things. It makes me feel good to help others! So I thought maybe I would use this blog to share with others the advice I have given. Let me know what you think.
